MCP · Quickstart

Your AI, with real revenue data

MCP is the socket AI clients use to pull in outside data. Connect MoneyAtlas once, and ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor answer "how much does this company make?" by querying our reports — not by guessing.

  • Search is free
  • 2 full reports / month
  • Works in ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor

Setup

Connect it in three steps

Pick your client, follow the steps. You only sign in once — the client keeps a token and renews it.

Add to your app

1Claude Code install prompt

Add the MoneyAtlas MCP server for me: run `claude mcp add --transport http --scope user moneyatlas https://moneyatlas.cc/mcp` in the terminal. When it is done, remind me to type /mcp, pick moneyatlas and click Authenticate.

Paste it into Claude Code and send; it finishes the setup and you only need to sign in and authorize.

    Open /mcp to authenticate.

    1. /mcp
    2. moneyatlas
    3. Authenticate
    Endpointhttps://moneyatlas.cc/mcp

Clients that support OAuth can sign in through the browser instead of pasting a key: the endpoint answers an anonymous call with a challenge that starts the flow.

  2. 3

    Start asking

    Try this question first.

Connections can only read reports and data; they cannot change your plan or account.

Those clients follow the standard MCP transport. We have run the ChatGPT and Claude authorization paths against production end to end; the rest connect the same way, but we do not claim the same depth of testing.

Why connect

From a vague range to three moves you can start

Left: what an assistant typically assembles from scattered posts. Right: the same person, after connecting. Both sides answer the same request.

Who is asking

Solo builder · ships front-end · no growth experience · 10 hours a week · wants $3K MRR in six months

Those details come out of the conversation — the assistant has to ask. We keep no profile of you.

Without the connection
  • “AI SaaS averages $30K a month”

    A 2024 blog post

  • “Trusted by 500+ teams”

A landing page · not revenue

  • “I heard they got acquired”

    A forum thread

What it assembles

“AI SaaS makes $30K–$100K a month and is growing fast.”

Three sources that contradict each other, and none of them is revenue.

With the connection
  1. 1

    Ask first — freefree

Budget, hours per week, what you can actually build. Those three answers decide who gets filtered out.

  2. 2

    Search — freefree

Three or four keyword passes, ten candidates, lined up by 30-day revenue.

  3. 3

    Do the math — freefree

MRR divided by 30-day revenue: Postiz 91% (subscription), Comp AI 1.8% (one-off). Both make money; they are different businesses.

  4. 4

    Read — 2 reads2 reads

Only the two that matter, read side by side: chapter 3 for the growth playbook, chapter 5 for the timeline.

What you get

Three cards, each with a source you can open

Product idea

A free tool that sells a hosted version

Nine of Postiz top ten US search pages are free tools; the Discord font generator alone draws about 11K visits. The hosted plan has no free tier — it sells “you skip the platform review”.

Fits you: tool pages are front-end work — your cheapest input.

Growth path

Ship landing pages before you ship ads

Postiz added MCP in April 2025, shipped an agent in October, then built 20 agent landing pages. Monthly revenue went from $18.3K to $46K by February 2026. What repeats is 20 landing pages a month, not MCP.

Fits you: no team needed — one template and one afternoon.

Marketing path

One channel, done properly

Organic search is 42.83% of Postiz traffic. Comp AI has no public channel at all — word of mouth and search. Neither one was built by paid ads.

Your first month: two tool pages and one template page, long-tail only.

Steps 1–3 are free; step 4 spends 2 reads — exactly the free allowance. Every number above comes from the real reports (data as of 2026-10-30) and can be opened and checked.

First runs

Three prompts to start with

Copy one into the chat. Each is labelled with what it costs, so a free account never runs dry by accident.

1Try one question firstfree

Search MoneyAtlas for AI SaaS products around $1K–$10K MRR. Return slug, MRR, primary channel, and pricing model for the top 5.

2Read one report end to end1 read

Using the MoneyAtlas MCP server, research AEO Engine: 1) Pull the latest revenue KPIs with as-of dates and evidence tags. 2) Summarise growth channels that are source-backed vs third-party estimated vs analyst interpretation. 3) List pricing tiers and team size if available. 4) End with 3 copyable GTM moves and cite the report sections you used.

3Sweep 5 competitors without wasting readsfree, then 2

Compare 5 AI SaaS competitors with MoneyAtlas MCP, without wasting reads. Step 1 — search only (free): find 5 companies with $1K–$10K MRR and put their public rows side by side. Step 2 — read at most 2: pick the two that matter most and read their full reports (1 read each). Compare revenue and growth, pricing, primary channel, team size and business model. Separate verified facts from estimates, say which fields are missing, cite the source report for every conclusion. Do not invent numbers when a field is Not available.

Allowance

What “two free reads” means

  • Search and listing are free, forever. Comparing companies, checking a revenue figure, grabbing a preview link — none of it spends a read.
  • Only reading a report costs one. A whole report or a single chapter — same one read. Free accounts get 2 per UTC month.
  • Running out never breaks the session. It gets a structured notice plus an upgrade link, and search keeps working.
PlanFull reports / monthPer day

The two website reads and the two MCP reads are separate allowances — using one never spends the other. Quotas reset at 00:00 UTC.

For developers: tools, errors, headers, dates

Four tools and two prompts. No resources are served: the only way to get a report body is get_report, which is metered.

Website visitor vs MCP account

ActionWebsite visitorMCP account
Search / listFreeFree, no account

Sign-inNoYes, OAuth
Past the allowanceWebsite rulesStructured notice, HTTP 200
Endpoint & auth
Streamable HTTP at /mcp. Bearer token: an API key, or an OAuth 2.1 access token (dynamic registration + PKCE, 1 hour, refresh 7 days). Anonymous calls may search and list; get_report and get_usage answer 401 with a WWW-Authenticate challenge pointing at the protected-resource metadata.
Errors
Tool errors, never transport crashes: quota_exceeded, auth_required, rate_limited, not_found, invalid_chapter, invalid_argument. REST answers 429 with Retry-After for the same condition.
Response headers
X-Plan, X-Auth-Method, X-Quota-Monthly-Used / -Limit / -Remaining, RateLimit-Limit / -Remaining / -Reset. On a tool call these describe the allowance as the request arrived — one read behind; get_usage returns the live count.
Four dates, never merged
revenueAsOf (the date the revenue figure belongs to), lastSuccessfulSyncAt (dataset sync), reportResearchAsOf (the business report; dataAsOf is its legacy alias) and benchmarkAsOf (monthly aggregate). Missing is null, never 0.
